Field Trials

Field Trials: Field Trials are among the oldest events licensed by the AKC. AKC registered retrievers (Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Curly Coated Retrievers, Flat Coated Retrievers, and Irish Water Spaniels) are eligible to compete in field trials. Field Trials test the ability of retrievers to make multiple retrieves on both land and water or a combination of both. Field Trials consist of Open, Amateur, Qualifying and Derby Stakes. Here dogs of various ages and ability compete against each other for placements and points toward the title(s) of Field Champion (FC) and Amateur Field Champion (AFC).
